Five Day Clubs

5-Day Clubs

5-Day Clubs are CEF’s main ministry during the summer months. Our 5-Day Club program is easily partnered with vacation Bible schools in a church.

What’s a 5-Day Club? 5-Day Club is an exciting, fun-filled one and one-half hour held each day for five consecutive days. It includes: dynamic Bible lessons, creative learning activities, inspiring missionary story, meaningful songs, life-changing Scripture memorization.

Who does the teaching? Clubs are taught by CYIA™ (Christian Youth In Action) summer missionaries that spend their summer teaching 5-Day Clubs in various locations in the area. These summer missionaries are usually high school or college age youth. CYIA trains youth from various local churches to do everything required to lead a 5-Day Club and share the gospel through the wordless book. The summer missionary team comes prepared with all of their own supplies for teaching and games and puts on the 5-Day Club program for the children.

Summer Missionary, Anthony, teaches the missionary story to children at 5-Day Club.

Where are 5-Day Clubs held? 5-Day Clubs can be held in homes, backyards, community centers, churches, parks, and anywhere else children can gather. Clubs held in a home are hosted by respected, friendly families concerned about the spiritual welfare of children in their neighborhood. 5-Day Clubs can easily be held in churches and can take the place of or partner with a vacation Bible school.

What is required of hosts? Organizations or individuals wanting to host a 5-Day Club are expected to provide a space for the club to be held (yard, park, porch, room, classroom, gym, etc.). They are also expected to invite children from the area to the club (invitations and flyers can be provided).  They may choose to provide a snack or craft for the children. And in some cases, depending on the size of the club, they may need to provide personnel to sit with children during the club to help with crowd control. After the club has concluded, hosts follow up with children to disciple them and help them to grow.

How do 5-Day Clubs benefit the organization or host family?

This has the same valuable, Biblical teaching of a VBS but it done on a smaller scale and is less work. Young people are trained to teach children and are challenged for full-time Christian service. The church is extended into neighborhoods where families live and sometimes children that attend clubs will also then come to church if they are invited. Children may receive the Lord as their personal Savior. There may be opportunity to build relationships with the children’s parents as well.
